SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 04: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone reviewed the progress of Mission Yuva, Dharti Aabha and Adi Karmayogi here at Mini-Secretariat today.
The meeting was convened to take stock of the ongoing activities and progress achieved under the said programs and to formulate future strategies for their effective implementation in the district.
At the outset, ADDC highlighted the objectives of Mission Yuva, Dharti Aabha and Adi Karmayogi, stressing that these initiatives are aimed at empowering youth, creating livelihood, opportunities, strengthening self-employment avenues, promoting sustainable agriculture, ensuring skill development and building capacity of various sections of society. He emphasized that coordinated action plans are crucial for maximizing the impact of these programmes on the ground.
The ADDC reviewed department-wise achievements and sought inputs from the concerned officers regarding the present status of works and interventions being carried out. He laid stress on enhancing convergence among departments and directed officers to put in extra efforts for ensuring visible results.
ADDC directed for focussing on counselling, awareness and motivation programmes for youth to channelize their energies towards constructive and skill-based activities.
The Health Department was asked to strengthen health awareness and wellness initiatives, while Agriculture and allied sectors were instructed to frame innovative models for sustainable livelihood.
Banking institutions were directed to ensure hassle-free credit linkages for youth entrepreneurs and self-help groups, while Employment officers were asked to organize regular orientation and entrepreneurship development programmes. The NRLM and DIC were also advised to work in close coordination with field functionaries to facilitate community mobilization and enterprise development.
ADDC emphasized that Mission Yuva and related initiatives are not mere schemes but platforms to transform the potential of youth into concrete development outcomes. He impressed upon all officers to monitor field activities regularly, identify bottlenecks and ensure saturation of benefits under various schemes.
The meeting concluded with the commitment that all line departments shall work in synergy to make Shopian a model district in terms of youth empowerment, livelihood generation and inclusive growth.
The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer, ICDS, Zaheer Ahmed; SDM, Zainapora, Bilal Ahmed; Chief Medical Officer, Shopian along with BMO Keller, Chief Agriculture Officer, Lead District Bank Manager, Assistant Director Employment, District Aadhaar Manager and other concerned.
