DODA, AUGUST 4: An Adolescent Health Day programme was organised today at Government Higher Secondary School Nandana under the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK).

The programme was conducted jointly by the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) and RKSK teams led by Dr. Vijay, Pinku Sharma (Adolescent Health Counsellor), Pooja Sharma (Adolescent Health Counsellor) and Indu Bala (FMPHW) in collaboration with the school staff.

The students were sensitized on key adolescent health issues, including balanced nutrition, personal and menstrual hygiene, mental well-being, prevention of substance abuse and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices. Interactive sessions encouraged students to openly discuss their concerns and seek guidance on various health-related issues.

Body Mass Index (BMI) screening of the students was also carried out to assess their nutritional status and identify those requiring counselling or further health interventions.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, reflecting the importance of creating awareness among adolescents and promoting healthy behaviours for their overall physical, mental and emotional well-being.
