SRINAGAR, APRIL 22: Agriculture Department Kashmir today organized an event to observe ‘World Earth Day’ at the Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir.
The event was organised under the theme ‘Our Power Our Planet.’ The function was presided over by the Director Agriculture Kashmir, Mohammad Ilyas Khateeb.
Addressing the participants, Director Agriculture said Earth day is observed to spread awareness about the issues, including global warming, deforestation, increasing pollution, which result in the destruction of the planet. He said this day provides us an opportunity to raise awareness among the farming community.
He said the day is aimed to underline the issues the environment is facing and to strategize the initiatives and actions against these issues.
Joint Director Agriculture highlighted various initiatives by the department to make different agriculture activities eco-friendly and sustainable.
The program was attended by officers and officials of the department.
