BHADERWAH, MARCH 28: In a significant step towards environmental protection and pollution monitoring, an Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station was inaugurated today at Bhaderwah by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Davinder Kumar, District Officer Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC) Gurpreet Singh and other staff members of the Forest Division.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC highlighted the importance of continuous air quality monitoring to assess pollution levels and ensure a healthy environment for residents. The newly inaugurated station will help in collecting real-time data on air pollutants, enabling authorities to take timely measures for pollution control and environmental conservation.
Officials emphasized that the initiative will strengthen environmental monitoring mechanisms in Bhaderwah and support the implementation of guidelines laid down by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
The event concluded with a commitment from all departments to work collectively towards maintaining ecological balance and promoting a cleaner and greener Bhaderwah.
