KISHTWAR, OCTOBER 07: District Election Officer (DEO) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan held an interactive session with media persons, sensitizing them on the Do’s and Don’ts of reporting during the upcoming Counting Day.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards and maintaining transparency in journalism to ensure that accurate and authentic election results are conveyed to the public in a real time manner.

The DEO stressed that media professionals must strictly follow all guidelines issued by ECI in letter and spirit to preserve the integrity of the election process.

Shavan also informed that a dedicated Media Cell has been established within the premises of the Counting Venue. The cell will provide real-time updates on election results, Assembly Constituency-wise, ensuring the public stays informed through various media channels.

Regarding Counting Day preparations, the DEO assured that all arrangements have been made for the smooth counting of votes across Kishtwar’s three Assembly Constituencies. He briefed the media about the comprehensive logistics set up at Kendriya Vidyalaya, including proper seating arrangements, a public announcement system, and a robust three-tier security system in line with election guidelines.

He further urged all candidates and their agents to gracefully accept the people’s verdict with smiling faces in consonance with the slogan of the District Election Authority “Catch the Smile” whether the result is in their favor or not.

He further advised the counting staff to maintain a positive demeanor while performing their duties, reinforcing the message of professionalism and composure throughout the day and maintaining complete neutrality.
