BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 02: As part of the preparations for the Assembly Elections 2024, District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, accompanied by the Returning Officer (RO) of 11-Gulmarg Assembly Constituency and other officers, visited several polling stations to ensure Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) are in place.

The visit was aimed at ensuring that voters have a smooth and hassle-free voting experience.
During the visit, a plantation drive was organized at the Green Polling Station located at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chandilora, Tangmarg.

The DEO, along with the RO and other officials, planted saplings to promote an eco-friendly and welcoming environment for voters. This Green Polling Station initiative reflects the district’s dedication to environmental sustainability while encouraging voter participation.

Speaking at the event, DEO stated that by creating these Green Polling Stations, we aim to provide an eco-friendly atmosphere that fosters voter engagement, promoting both environmental responsibility and democratic participation.

In addition to the plantation drive, the DEO reviewed the readiness of the polling stations to ensure all required facilities, such as drinking water, proper accessibility, and adequate signage, are available to voters.
