BARAMULLA, AUGUST 29: To ensure meticulous preparation for the upcoming Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the District Election Officer (DEO) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, accompanied by the Returning Officer for 13-Pattan AC, Gulzar Ahmad Rather and other officers, visited Pattan Assembly Constituency today and conducted a comprehensive inspection of various polling stations.

During the inspection, the DEO thoroughly reviewed the infrastructure and facilities at various polling stations, including Palhalan, Pattan, Zangam and others, to ensure availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in accordance with the Election Commission of India’s guidelines.

The thorough inspection covered a review of essential aspects, including accessibility, ramps for voters with disabilities, adequate sanitation facilities, availability of drinking water, a reliable electricity supply, and other necessary provisions for both polling staff and voters.

During the visit, the DEO emphasized that the purpose of these inspections is to ensure that all polling stations are equipped with the Assured Minimum Facilities guaranteed by the Election Commission of India for both polling staff and voters on Election Day.

While expressing his satisfaction regarding the preparations, Minga Sherpa encouraged continued teamwork from all involved to ensure the successful completion of the electoral process.

Additionally, Minga Sherpa reiterated the administration’s dedication to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a supportive environment for conducting elections that are free, fair, and transparent.
