SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 12: The Expenditure Observer for district Shopian, Nelapatla Ashok Babu today visited Dachipora and Heerpora villages of the Shopian to check the working of Police nakas and Video Surveillance Teams (VSTs).
The visit was part of the preparations for the elections scheduled for 18 September 2024 in the district to check preparations of police nakas for tackling any illegal activity and to effectively book expenditures of contesting candidates.
Expenditure Observer interacted with Police officials and officials of Video Surveillance Teams (SST) and directed them to strictly adhere to the Election Commission’s guidelines, emphasizing the need to curb illegal expenditures and activities.
The Observer instructed the teams to maintain strict monitoring at all entry points of the district, ensuring that no illegal activities compromise the electoral process.
The VST team was asked to view the campaigning activities of all contesting candidates in the area and book the expenditure as per the ground truth.
