GANDERBAL, SEPTEMBER 18: As Ganderbal gears up for the Assembly Elections 2024, the General Observer for District Ganderbal, R. Lakshmanan today convened a meeting with contesting candidates and election agents at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat.

This meeting, organized in strict accordance with the Election Commission of India (ECI) guidelines, marked a crucial stage in the election process, focusing on maintaining the integrity and neutrality of the democratic exercise.

The District Election Officer, Shyambir, along with key district officials including the Additional District Development Commissioner, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ASP Ganderbal, Aijaz Ahmad; DyDEO, Abid Iqbal Malik; DTO, Dr. Sareer Ahmad; CEO and other key officials were present to ensure the successful coordination and communication of the election norms.

The General Observer emphasized the critical importance of following the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and ECI guidelines at every step of the election process. He made it clear that adherence to the code was not merely a formality but a commitment to the democratic principles that the election process upholds.

Every political party present was urged to maintain transparency and ethical conduct during their campaigns.
On the occasion, political parties also raised their concerns and gained clarity on the electoral guidelines.
The General Observer ensured that the election process would remain neutral, urging party representatives to report any violations or discrepancies they may encounter.

The meeting concluded with a reiteration of the ECI’s commitment to ensuring free and fair elections, providing all political parties with the reassurance that their participation would be treated with impartiality.
As the election date draws nearer, Ganderbal stands poised for a smooth, transparent electoral process, where every vote counts, and every voice matters.
