Awareness Programme on Declining Birth Rate held in Sopore

BARAMULLA, MAY 08: An important awareness programme on the topic “Declining Birth Rate in Kashmir: Causes and the Way Forward” was organized in Sopore, Baramulla by Hanifa Nursing College in collaboration with Hakim Sanaullah Specialist Hospital and Cancer Centre.

The programme witnessed participation from B.Sc Nursing students of various nursing colleges across the Valley. During the event, students expressed concern over the noticeable decline in the birth rate in Kashmir, terming it a serious issue that requires attention and awareness. They highlighted several social and medical factors contributing to the trend.

Prominent doctors and medical experts from the Valley also spoke on the occasion and discussed the possible causes behind the declining birth rate. They emphasized the need for further research, awareness and community engagement on the issue, adding that more initiatives and programmes would be conducted in the future to address the concern.

The participating students said that such awareness programmes are highly important and necessary for educating society and encouraging meaningful discussions on sensitive public health issues.
