Awareness programme on ‘International Girl Child Day’ held at GGHSS Dawar Gurez

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 14: In accordance with the directions of J&K Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bandipora in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Gurez and in collaboration with Education Department Bandipora organized an awareness programme on ‘International Girl Child Day’ at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Dawar Gurez under the theme ‘Girls’ vision for the future’.

The programme organized under the chairmanship of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Bandipora and guidance of Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon, Secretary DLSA Bandipora, was inaugurated by Chairman TLSC (Munsiff/JMIC) Gurez, Mehak Mehboob along with Principal Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Dawar Gurez.

They highlighted the detrimental consequences of child marriage, emphasizing the legal implications and the impact on a girl’s education and health, and to reaffirm our commitment to empowering girls and ensuring their safety.

The awareness program was met with a positive response from the students and expressed their concerns about the prevalence of these issues and their desire to contribute to the efforts aimed at eliminating them.
The programme was attended by Officials, PLVs, panel lawyers and students of the said institutions, and other participants.
