BHADERWAH, AUGUST 18: An Awareness- Programme and a Drawing competition on Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan were today organized here at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School.
The Programme was organized by the Social Welfare Department to sensitize students to harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage them to work collectively towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
The participants were sensitised about the physical, psychological, social and economic consequences of substance abuse. The speakers emphasised the importance of early awareness, family support, responsible citizenship and active community participation in preventing drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation.
A pledge against drug abuse was also administered to the participants, who solemnly resolved to stay away from drugs, discourage others from substance abuse and contribute towards creating a healthy, safe and drug-free society.
The drawing competition provided students an opportunity to express their thoughts and creativity on the theme of a drug-free society and the harmful consequences of drug abuse.
The programme was organised under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner and the Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhaderwah, under the close supervision of the District Social Welfare Officer.
