RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) District Office Rajouri organised an awareness programme on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) at Muradpur-B, district Rajouri.
The programme aimed to spread awareness among unemployed youth, women, aspiring entrepreneurs, ex-servicemen and members of Self Help Groups about financial assistance schemes implemented by KVIB for establishing income-generating units in the manufacturing and service sectors.
During the programme, participants were briefed on project cost limits under PMEGP (manufacturing up to ₹1.00 crore and service up to ₹50.00 lakh), subsidy patterns ranging from 15% to 35% depending on category and area, benefits and eligibility criteria under JKREGP, the online application process and required documentation and the role of banks in the sanction and disbursement of loans.
District Officer KVIB Rajouri Sameer Ahmed highlighted that these schemes offer local youth the opportunity to become job creators rather than job seekers. He urged participants to make full use of government-sponsored schemes to strengthen the rural economy and promote self-reliance.
Bank representatives present at the programme assured full cooperation in the speedy processing of eligible cases. Participants actively engaged with officials and sought clarifications on margin money subsidy, collateral norms and repayment procedures.
A large number of youth and local residents attended the programme and appreciated KVIB Rajouri’s initiative in organising awareness camps at the grassroots level.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a commitment to conduct similar awareness activities in other blocks of District Rajouri.
