DODA, DECEMBER 18: The Block Diwas program was successfully organized today at multiple locations across Doda district under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh to listen to public grievances and expedite redressal. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, PRI members, former sarpanchs, panchs, and representatives from different departments. Sittings were held at Panchayat Ghar Soura Bhalla in Sub Division Bhaderwah, Panchayat Budli in Block Jakyas of Sub Division Gandoh, Panchayat Ghar Chill in Sub Division Assar, and Rokali Kalan in Tehsil Chiralla.

At Panchayat Ghar Soura Bhalla, the program was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Sunil Kumar. The residents brought up issues related to road connectivity, the need for new transformers and electric poles and seeking timely implementation of PMAY and PMGSY schemes. The ADC assured attendees of prompt actions through a collaborative approach, emphasizing the district administration’s dedication to grassroots governance. Directions were given to ensure that pending developmental works are completed without delay and essential services like electricity, clean water, and healthcare are prioritized.

Similarly, at Panchayat Budli, Block Jakyas, and other locations, local representatives highlighted demands seeking up-gradation of schools, establishment of healthcare facilities, availability of agricultural subsidies, and better internet connectivity. Participants also emphasized the need for improving public transport facilities, expediting compensation for land acquisition, and ensuring adequate staff in government offices. Officials present at the events took note of the grievances and committed to forwarding them to the concerned departments for early resolution.

The Block Diwas program underscores the administration’s proactive approach to inclusive development and public service delivery. The initiative not only fosters transparency but also builds trust between the government and the rural population, ensuring that governance reaches the remotest corners of the district.
