THANAMANDI, DECEMBER 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) under overall supervision of ARI & Trainings Department and in coordination with District Administrations through District Industry Centre, Rajouri organized a counselling cum awareness camp at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Thanamandi, Rajouri to educate the aspiring candidates/students about the Entrance Examinations/Counsellings Schedule for admission to various professional courses to be conducted by J&K BOPEE in UT of J&K for the session 2025-26.

The Camp aimed to address the issue of low enrolment and vacant seats in various Govt./Private Colleges/Institutions of UT of J&K due to dearth of information and awareness among the students particularly from far flung areas/districts about various professional courses, eligibility criteria, admission processes and future prospects. BOPEE officials and experts interacted with students, addressed their concerns and provided insights on the benefits of pursuing professional education within the Union Territory of J&K. The Awareness Camp also highlighted the advantage of pursuing professional courses in local colleges of UT of J&K, including minimum fee structure as compared to other states outside J&K, and better job opportunities.

Prof. (Dr.) Minu Mahajan, Chairperson JKBOPEE in her message urged the students of the district Rajouri to avail the opportunity in securing seats of your choice in the professional colleges by participating in large number in the upcoming academic session. She said that the Board is committed to fill up all seats to avoid depletion of the resources and opportunities available in various Govt./Private Colleges/Institutions of J&K.

Prof. Gurvinder Raj Verma, Controller of Examinations, J&K BOPEE expressed various concerns regarding students opting for colleges outside the UT of J&K and are facing difficulties due to lack of awareness of professional courses among the students. He apprised students about available courses, seats intake, basic qualification, registration processes, allotment of seats, counseling schedule and various other aspects of admission process in various professional courses conducted by J&K BOPEE.

The introductory remarks of the camp were given by Shri Farid Ahmad Kohli, General Manager District Industry Centre, Rajouri wherein he gave the details of the awareness program and advised the students to be proactive in their approach and participate in these types of programs in large number. Additionally, the said camp was also attended by the Principal of the Higher Secondary School Mohd Farooq Mirza, Shri Vishavdeep Singh (Project Manager, DIC), Vivek Singh, (Project Manager, DIC), Staff Members and the students of the school.

These Awareness Camps were held for the first time by BOPEE since its existence to reach out to students at their doorstep and similarly more camps shall be held in the nearer future, if needed, in various areas/districts of J&K with the aim to aware the students about professional education so that maximum number of students are benefited from these initiatives.
