BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 23: As part of the ongoing Sewa Parv celebrations, district Budgam today witnessed a wide range of community-oriented activities organised across different blocks, focusing on cleanliness, sustainability, cultural awareness, and agricultural best practices.

At Block S.K. Pora, a cultural Ladishah performance and a play were staged in collaboration with Government High School S.K. Pora and Government Middle School Razwen. The performances, delivered in the local Kashmiri language, emphasized eco-friendly behaviour and sustainable everyday habits, ensuring the message of Sewa Parv reached the local population in an impactful and relatable manner.

At HSS Bugam, Chadoora, a wall painting activity was carried out under Sewa Parv, where students and volunteers depicted themes of cleanliness, environmental protection, and social responsibility. The creative initiative not only beautified the surroundings but also spread awareness through art.

In Beerwah block, Horticulture department Budgam organised demonstrations on orchard drainage, water harvesting, and fruit and vegetable preservation. These practical sessions aimed to equip farmers with sustainable practices to improve productivity and reduce post-harvest losses.

Meanwhile, in Ratsun Block, a Zero Waste Celebration Festival was observed, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly practices, waste minimization, and responsible resource use, thereby encouraging community participation in sustainable living.

Additionally, cleaning drives were undertaken in and around SBM assets at Block Narbal, reinforcing the commitment towards hygiene, sanitation, and maintaining public infrastructure under Swachh Bharat Mission.

The day’s activities reflected the collective efforts of schools, departments, and local communities in carrying forward the spirit of Sewa Parv, blending culture, innovation, awareness, and service to inspire a cleaner, greener, and more responsible society.
