RAMBAN OCTOBER 24: A comprehensive career counselling and awareness session was held for final-year students at Government Degree College Banihal here today under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary and the supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Rahul Gupta and Assistant Director Employment Amit Kumar.
The event was organized by the Social Welfare Department in collaboration with the GDC Banihal and the District Employment and Counselling Centre/Model Career Centre Ramban, under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.
Young Professional (YP) and Counsellor, Lovepreet Singh, provided an in-depth overview of various career opportunities, introducing students to platforms such as the National Career Service (NCS) Portal and the J&K Employment Portal.
Singh also emphasized the significance of personality development, interview preparation, and self-employment schemes such as the Mumkin Scheme, Tejaswini Scheme, and the Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative (SEI) to foster entrepreneurship and job creation.
The session also brought attention towards the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, which is being actively implemented in District Ramban. The program focused on promoting the education and welfare of the girl child, encouraging gender equality, and addressing the issue of the declining child sex ratio.
The event concluded with the address of the College Principal Dr. Shafiq Ahmed, who appreciated the initiative and urged students to take full advantage of the guidance provided during the session.
