SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 15: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today attended the 58th Engineers’ Day celebrations at Institution of Engineers (India), J&K State Centre (IEI JKSC), Srinagar, where he paid glowing tributes to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya and underscored the vital role of engineers in nation-building.

Highlighting the importance of innovation and ethical responsibility, the Chief Minister said that engineers form the backbone of development and implementation. “Whether the government is successful or not, engineers play a very important role in this. We may come up with new ideas in meetings and sessions, but without you, they cannot be translated on the ground,” he said.

Assuring the engineering community of the government’s commitment to address their concerns, Omar Abdullah said, “I want to assure you all that my colleagues and I are working very seriously on this. We are determined to find a sustainable solution for your long-pending issues, not just a one-time measure. You should continue contributing towards making J&K a developed state, while we will shoulder the responsibility of resolving your service matters.”

On the occasion, the Chief Minister unveiled policy briefs and the newsletter of IEI JKSC.
Advisor to the CM, Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Lal Chowk Sheikh Ahsan Ahmad (Pardesi), Chairman IEI JKSC Er. Iftikhar Ahmad Hakim and Honorary Secretary IEI JKSC Dr.Jahangeer Ali also addressed the gathering and highlighted the contributions of engineers in shaping society and infrastructure.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from engineers, technocrats and other professionals.
