Srinagar, Oct 08 : Like other days, Sadiya Jan (Name Changed) as per her schedule reached her reading station at SPS library in Lal Chowk in the morning.
The morning session of Sadiya’s studies went well. However, the afternoon session for her started with the distracting slogans and ambiences.
Sadiya told the news agency— that her focus on studies was diverted soon after the political workers started shouting slogans outside the SPS library.
“I was trying to remain focused on my studies but the political workers in the same vicinity of the SPS library started playing political anthems and songs on loudspeakers. That totally disrupted the studies of all students,” she said.
Not only Sadiya, other students and the members of SPS library left books on the tables and throng to the windows of the building to watch the celebrations of the political party of which office is next to the library.
For some students, it was entertaining as they were witnessing such scenes after around a decade.
However, many students expressed resentments against playing of political anthems on loudspeakers and bursting of firecrackers saying, “The celebrations could have been done in the late evening without distracting the students from studies.”
