COVID-19: Nine die; 2,304 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday reported nine deaths and another spike of 2,304 cases pushing the number of active cases to 29,829 in the UT.
With nine more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,692 and 2,304 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 440,480.
Of the exact number of 440,480 cases, 280,901 are from Kashmir division and 159,579 from Jammu division.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 2,304 new cases, 1,308 belong to Kashmir division while as 996 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 280,901 including 257,221 recoveries and 2,398 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 159,579 including 148,738 recoveries and 2,294 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 29,829 including 21,282 from Kashmir division and 8,547 from Jammu division.
With 5,024 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 405,959 which is 92.16 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 439 from Srinagar, 190 from Baramulla, 167 from Budgam, 41 from Pulwama, 131 from Kupwara, 84 from Anantnag, 57 from Bandipora, 53 from Ganderbal, 112 from Kulgam and 34 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 996 from Jammu division include 443 from Jammu district, 128 from Udhampur, 37 from Rajouri, 104 from Doda, 36 from Kathua, 56 from Samba, 54 from Kishtwar, 15 from Poonch, 84 from Ramban and 39 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 99,956 positive cases including 903 deaths and 89,946 recoveries are from Srinagar, 36,791 including 303 deaths and 32,577 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,069 including 32,307 recoveries and 227 deaths are from Budgam, 18,141 including 17,329 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,009 including 171 deaths and 20,002 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,000 including 19,494 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,397 cases including 12,637 and 114 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,357 including 12,629 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 15,972 including 14,401 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,209 including 5,899 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 73,344 including 67,701 recoveries and 1,212 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,296 including 13,712 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,621 including 12,142 recoveries and 246 deaths are from Rajouri, 10,037 including 8,695 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Doda, 11,013 including 10,530 recoveries and 162 deaths are from Kathua, 8,861 including 8,267 recoveries and 122 deaths are from Samba, 5,656 including 5,337 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,610 including 7,114 recoveries and 107 deaths are from Poonch, 7,628 including 6,941 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,299 including 8,277 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,815,539 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 29,962 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 29,829 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,320,649 persons have completed the surveillance period and 430,407 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 21,561,422 samples are available. Out of 21,561,422 the number of samples tested negative stands at 21,120,942 while as 440,480 have tested positive, among them 29,829 persons are active, 405,959 persons have recovered and 4,692 persons have died
