COVID: J&K reports 23 fresh cases, no death

J&K reports 6 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported 24 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the number of active cases to 269 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,784.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 23 new cases, 16 belong to Kashmir division while as 07 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 304,987 including 302,417 recoveries and 2,433 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,907 including 171,444 recoveries and 2,351 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 249 including 137 from Kashmir division and 112 from Jammu division.

With 43 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 473,861 which is 98.95 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 23 cases today, 05 are from Srinagar, 02 from Baramulla, 06 from Budgam, 00 from Pulwama, 01 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 07 are from Jammu division that include 06 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,793,671 persons in J&K are under observation while 530 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 249 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,787,532 persons have completed the surveillance period and 576 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,573,544 samples are available.

“Out of 26,573,544 the number of samples tested negative stands at 26,104,650 while 478,894 have tested positive, among them 249 cases are active, 473,861 have recovered and 4,784 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
