DODA, JUNE 19: As part of the ongoing Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJDUA), a comprehensive Medical and Awareness Camp was organized at Government High School Malathi to benefit the tribal community of Chilly Paine and Muksias areas of Tehsil Bhalessa- Doda.

The event was held under the overall guidance of the District Development Commissioner Harvinder Singh, while the medical camp was conducted under the supervision of District AYUSH Officer Dr. Ajay Kumar Tikoo. The chief guest was the local DDC Member and the event was graced by the presence of the BDO, adding significance to the outreach initiative aimed at tribal welfare.

During the camp, the officials from the government departments interacted with local tribal residents to address their demands related to healthcare, access to government schemes, and awareness about traditional medicine and nutrition. Special emphasis was placed on sensitizing the community about the upcoming International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025. They were encouraged to adopt yoga and Ayurveda-based lifestyle practices for improved well-being. Active community participation in the IDY celebrations was also promoted.

Multiple departments set up stalls and service points to ensure holistic support to the tribal community. The ICDS Department distributed nutrition kits and provided counseling to pregnant and lactating women, while the Health Department conducted health check-ups and immunizations. The Education Department spread awareness about school enrollment drives and scholarship schemes for tribal students. Revenue officials assisted with essential documentation, and the Rural Development Department disseminated information on MGNREGA job cards, PMAY housing benefits, and sanitation programs.

The AYUSH Department played a significant role by distributing free Ayurvedic medicines to over 120 beneficiaries and providing consultations for common ailments. The department also promoted preventive healthcare and holistic wellness, aligning with the Abhiyan’s core goal of “Reaching the Unreached.” The camp proved to be a successful step toward empowering tribal communities through integrated government services and awareness-driven outreach.
