UDHAMPUR, JUNE 18: Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai today directed for prioritizing the completion of Jal Jeevan Mission projects in tribal villages in consonance with the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA).

The DC was chairing a meeting with JJM functionaries and contractors to review the progress and address the challenges faced in the execution of water supply schemes in eight tribal villages of the district.

After detailed deliberations on the issues hampering timely completion of the schemes, she sought special focus on identifying bottlenecks in key components viz. electrical and mechanical works etc. Contractors highlighted several ground-level impediments, including delays in material supply and inter-departmental clearances.

The DC assured the contractors of timely resolution of genuine issues particularly those related to pending payments of JJM works and urged all contractors to adopt a mission mode approach to ensure time-bound and quality completion of the ongoing works.

The DC directed the concerned officers to carry out regular field inspections and closely monitor the pace of work. She also stressed on inter-departmental coordination and proactive grievances redressal mechanism to prevent further delays.
