ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 26: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today attended the final ceremony of the BPL-6 Cricket Tournament as the Chief Guest at the Nilandrusu Cricket Ground, Bijbehara.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner congratulated the organisers, players and all participants for the successful conduct of the tournament. He appreciated the young cricketers for their enthusiasm, discipline, dedication and sporting spirit displayed throughout the tournament.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline and a positive outlook among young people. He encouraged students and young players to actively participate in sports and make the best use of the opportunities available to them.
Interacting with the students and young sportspersons, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat advised them to work hard, remain focused on their goals and maintain discipline in both their academic and sporting pursuits. He urged them to cultivate a spirit of perseverance, teamwork and healthy competition while striving for excellence in their respective fields.
Emphasising the need to channelize the energy and talent of the youth in a constructive direction, the Deputy Commissioner said that the District Administration is committed to providing opportunities and platforms for young people to showcase their talent. He called upon the youth to come forward and play the role of a guiding force in keeping the district free from drug abuse and other social evils.
He stressed that greater participation in sports and other productive activities can help young people develop confidence, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility towards society. He also encouraged parents, teachers, sports organisers and community members to support youngsters in pursuing healthy and constructive interests.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the organisers for providing a platform to budding sporting talent at the grassroots level and for promoting a culture of sports among the youth of the district. He observed that such tournaments provide young players with valuable opportunities to develop their skills, gain competitive experience and nurture teamwork and sportsmanship.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner distributed awards, trophies and mementos among the players and participants, congratulating them for their performances and encouraging them to continue pursuing sports with dedication and determination.
The event concluded with appreciation for all the teams, players, organisers, officials and supporters whose collective efforts contributed to the successful conduct of BPL-6 and the promotion of sports activities among the youth.
