ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 16: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, today chaired a review meeting at the DC Office Complex, Anantnag, to take stock of the progress of the Transit Accommodation Project being developed under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for PM Package employees in the district.

He directed the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work, resolve pending issues on priority and ensure timely completion of the project with all requisite infrastructure facilities.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner undertook a detailed review of the progress achieved on various components of the project and assessed the status of ongoing construction works. He also reviewed the availability and provision of essential infrastructure facilities, including road connectivity, drinking water supply and electricity, which are crucial for ensuring that the accommodation is fully functional and equipped to meet the requirements of the intended beneficiaries.

The DC took stock of the issues and bottlenecks affecting the pace of execution and sought feedback from the concerned departments regarding the status of pending works, interdepartmental coordination and the measures required to address implementation-related challenges. He stressed that all critical components of the project must progress in a coordinated manner to avoid delays and ensure the creation of a complete and functional residential facility.

Emphasising the importance of timely delivery of the project, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat directed the executing agencies and line departments to work in close coordination, identify and resolve all outstanding issues in a time-bound manner, and ensure that no avoidable delays hamper the execution of the project. He called for focused attention on pending infrastructure works and directed the officers to take prompt corrective measures wherever required.

The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the need for regular field inspections, effective monitoring and periodic assessment of physical progress to ensure adherence to prescribed timelines and quality standards. He underscored that the provision of essential services, particularly road connectivity, water supply and uninterrupted electricity infrastructure, must be given due priority so that the accommodation is made ready with all necessary facilities.

He also impressed upon the concerned officers to maintain close coordination and accountability at every stage of execution and ensure expeditious resolution of any administrative or technical issues arising during implementation.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the timely completion of the Transit Accommodation Project is a priority and directed all concerned departments to work with a coordinated and result-oriented approach to ensure its completion within the stipulated timeline, with adequate infrastructure and essential amenities for PM Package employees.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Superintending Engineer, Executive Engineers of the Roads and Buildings (R&B), Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Department (PDD), besides other concerned officers and officials associated with the execution and monitoring of the project.
