ANANTNAG, JUNE 08: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, who is also the District Yatra Officer from the Anantnag axis, today reviewed the arrangements for SANJY 2024 at Pahalgam.
On the occasion, Officers of the district presented detailed progress of the works pertaining to the Yatra.

Addressing the meeting, the DC emphasized the national importance of the Yatra and stressed the need to be thoroughly prepared. He highlighted the primary duty of providing seamless facilities to the pilgrims.

During the course of the meeting, the preparedness vis-a-vis physical connectivity, drinking water, shelters, medical facilities, risk and disaster mitigation, electricity availability, telephonic connectivity, food and fuel availability was assessed and appropriate directions were passed to ensure readiness within the deadline.

Micro level arrangements regarding RFID tagging, medical facilities and oxygen availability, were also discussed.
Regarding the communication plan, representatives of private companies viz. Jio, Airtel, and BSNL were directed to provide hassle-free service to pilgrims and duty officials.

Notably, the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024 is scheduled to begin from last week of June.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Superintending Engineers of Roads & Building and KPDCL, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Sub Divisional Magistrate Pahalgam, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, Assistant Director Food and Consumer Affairs, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Assistant Director Tourism, Executive Officer of Municipality and officials from the Disaster Management, officers from Border Roads Organisation and Pahalgam Development Authority, among others.
