Bandipora, September 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Monday inaugurated the “Brashtachar Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Week” during the inaugral ceremony held at Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

The function was attended by ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan, Nodal Officer Coordination Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, ACP Bandipora, JD Planning besides all the district and sectoral heads of the district.

It was given out that the week-long program aims to combat corruption and promote transparency in the administration, thereby making sure a corruption-free Bandipora.

Dr. Owais, on the occasion, said that the district administration is committed to eradicate corruption at all levels. The DC said that online services and e-offices play in achieving the goal of corruption free work culture in the administration, streamlining government processes, and reducing opportunities for corrupt practices. The DC informed that to make government services hassle free, there are already 200 plus e-services available in the district.

The DC said that to make Bandipora corruption-free Bandipora, the importance of modern technology and digital solutions are recognisable. He said that online services and e-offices not only enhance efficiency but also minimize the chances of corruption.

The DC directed all the departments, especially executive departments, to timely identify and resolve all the pendencies in their respective departments. He said pendencies lead to time delays, and ultimately, corruption has a scope in such cases. He therefore stressed the timely resolution of pending works.

The Deputy Commissioner was informed that The ‘Brashtachar Mukt J&K Week’ will feature a series of awareness programs, workshops and interactive sessions to educate government officials and citizens about the detrimental effects of corruption and ways to combat it.

It was given that the week will also highlight the success stories of individuals and departments that have effectively adopted digital solutions to eliminate corruption from their operations.

The DC was further informed that a series of programs are scheduled to be held across all the blocks of the district and in all the panchayats during the weeklong program.

The events include workshops on e-governance and digitalization, public awareness campaigns on reporting corruption, showcasing successful case studies of corruption-free departments, interactive sessions with citizens on the benefits of online services and their role in reducing the corruption.

The DC called upon all government officials, residents, and organizations in Bandipora to actively participate in the week-long event, stating that the collective efforts are crucial in building a transparent and accountable administration.

Meanwhile, Dr Owais presided over at the plege ceremony wherein officers from district administration besides volunteers participated to take oath for corruption free practices and make sure effective and efficient public delivery service system.
