BANDIPORA, SEPTEMBER 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today chaired a meeting to review the construction of the Burnai–Jawdara Road under PMGSY and deliberate on the challenges associated with its execution.
The meeting was informed that the sanctioned road has a length of 18.82 kilometres and passes through undulating terrain with substantial forest cover, posing challenges in carrying out field verification and assessment.
The Forest Department informed the meeting that a major portion of the proposed road passes through difficult terrain and forest areas, making field verification challenging.
Taking note of the difficulties, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Forest Department to convene a meeting with the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) and submit a technical evaluation report regarding the road for further necessary action.
The Tehsildar concerned was directed to coordinate with Census officials and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and submit a report on the population and number of electors of the concerned areas for further assessment.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Bandipora, Executive Engineer PMGSY Division Bandipora, while Sub-Divisional Magistrate Gurez, Tehsildar Tulail, Concerned Patwari/Census Team, BLOs, Forest Range Officer Gurez and Beat Officer/Forester Tulail attended the meeting virtually.
