BANDIPORA, AUGUST 04: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Tuesday visited Surrinder area of Bandipora to assess the situation following the recent heavy rains and flash floods and took stock of the damage caused in the area.
During the visit, the DC inspected the affected locations and reviewed the impact of the flash floods on residential houses, public infrastructure, agricultural land and other assets. She interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns while obtaining firsthand information about the losses caused by the recent rains.
The DC directed the concerned officers to conduct a detailed assessment of the damages and ensure that the process is completed promptly so that the required relief and assistance could be taken up as per the established norms. She stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination among all concerned departments for timely response and effective management of the situation.
The DC also reviewed the measures being taken by the district administration and instructed the concerned departments to remain alert, closely monitor vulnerable locations and take all necessary precautionary steps to minimise the impact of any further weather-related incidents. She emphasized that public safety should remain the top priority and directed the officers to stay in close touch with the affected families.
The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Tehsildar Bandipora, and other concerned officers.
