BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired the second meeting of the District Advisory Committee (DAC) of MY Bharat to review progress on various youth-centric initiatives and programmes.
The Committee reviewed the proceedings and action points of the first DAC meeting, followed by discussions on the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) Quiz, Mission Yuva, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and Experiential Learning Programme (ELP).
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to undertake coordinated efforts to maximise participation of students and youth in VBYLD and other MY Bharat activities. He stressed the need for greater convergence among departments to provide young people opportunities in leadership, cultural, social, developmental and youth empowering initiatives.
The DC also directed departments to ensure nomination of Youth Chapters and Campus Ambassadors in schools, colleges and other educational institutions, besides registering more youth volunteers and involving them in government programmes.
Emphasising the role of youth in community development, the Deputy Commissioner called for effective implementation of youth-focused initiatives at the grassroots level and coordinated follow-up by all concerned departments.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Vivek Agarwal, ADC Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, Chief Planning Officer, General Manager DIC, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, District Youth Officer MY Bharat and other concerned officers.
