BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 20: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, today chaired a review meeting on the progress and implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Urban (PMAY-Urban) 1.0 and 2.0 for all 6 Municipalities of District Budgam here at the New Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.

Besides, CPO Budgam Chief Executive Officer MC Budgam, Deputy General Manager Housing Board Unit-II Srinagar, Executive Officers of MC Magam, Khansahib, Chadoora, Charar-i-Sharief and Beerwah, Project Coordinator PMAY-Urban 2.0 Budgam, CLTC Planning Area staff were present in the meeting.

The DC reviewed in detail the status of under-construction houses under PMAY-Urban 1.0. He stressed that all pending construction works must be completed within the fixed timelines.

The DC said that beneficiaries who have already received installments should be facilitated and motivated to finish the construction at the earliest.

Reviewing PMAY-Urban 2.0, he stressed on the immediate grounding of all newly approved houses. The DC directed that Urban Local Bodies must ensure timely issuance of permissions and provide handholding support to beneficiaries so that work begins without delay.

A detailed assessment of Verification and Geo-Tagging under PMAY-Urban 2.0 was also carried out.
He directed the concerned officers to complete all pending geo-tagging and verification so that eligible cases can be forwarded swiftly through the Unified Web Portal for DLC-level approvals.

The DC directed that immediate Action needs to be taken to the cases where Advance Mobilization amounts were disbursed but construction was not initiated. He emphasised that strict recovery shall be made from such beneficiaries as per guidelines. He instructed all officers to identify such cases and ensure necessary action.

The DC further directed EOs of MCs to expedite ULB-level approvals of all eligible PMAY-U 2.0 cases. He said that coordinated efforts are essential to achieve the goal of providing housing to all eligible urban households.

The DC called for intensified field monitoring, regular updating of progress on the portal, and weekly reporting to the District Administration.

He stressed that PMAY-Urban is a crucial housing initiative, and its timely implementation will significantly benefit deserving families across the district.

On the occasion the DC handed over the sanction letters under PMAY -Urban to 16 beneficiaries of MC chadoora and 14 beneficiaries of MC budgam of the District.
