BARAMULLA, DECEMBER 06: The weekly Block Diwas programme held at Kanispora Baramulla proved to be a productive forum for addressing key community issues.

The outreach initiative chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar brought together PRIs, elders, youth, and citizens from Kanispora and neighboring villages.

Issues raised during the event included the imperative need for awareness on high-density plantation, the urgency in completing the Jal Jeevan Scheme, and the necessity of a robust drainage system at Gousia Colony.

In her address, Dr. Sehrish assured the public that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.

She emphasized the importance of the speedy completion of the Water Supply Scheme in Kanispora under (JJM). Additionally, the Horticulture Department was directed to conduct awareness camps on high-density Plantation to benefit the community.

Dr Sehrish further directed the Block Development Officer (BDO) to submit a map of the drainage line for Gousia Colony, underscoring the commitment to address local infrastructure needs promptly.

The event witnessed the presence of Chief Planning Officer Javid Ahmad Najar, PRIs, BDO Baramulla, BMO Sheeri, and other district officers and officials, reflecting a collaborative effort towards effective local governance.

Earlier, DC inspected stalls set up by various departments, aimed at creating awareness of government schemes for the general public in Baramulla.

The diverse range of government programs showcased at the stalls underscored a commitment to empower citizens with information, fostering a more informed and engaged local public.
