JAMMU, JUNE 29: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting to review the flood preparedness in the district, here today. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, irrigation department engineers, Executive Officers of Municipalities and other concerned officers.
The DC issued several key directives to the concerned departments asking them to list out areas prone to water logging in advance and visit these areas to ensure preventive measures are put in place. Departments were asked to review the incidence of water logging in their respective areas to better inform their preparations.
Sub-Divisional Magistrates were directed to share the identified water logging areas with EOs and other concerned officers.
The DC also took cognisance of water logging issues on roads and flyovers and directed the concerned engineers to ensure these areas remain clear to facilitate smooth traffic flow and prevent jams.
