DC Kathua reviews arrangements for smooth observance of Ramzan

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, today chaired a preparatory meeting to review arrangements for the forthcoming holy month of Ramzan and ensure seamless delivery of essential services across the district.

Officers of PDD, PHE, FCS&CA, Health, Municipal bodies and Food Safety departments attended the meeting.
The DC stressed coordinated efforts and proactive monitoring for hassle-free observance of the holy month.

The Power Development Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply, particularly during Sehri and Iftar and to establish control rooms for prompt redressal of the grievances. The PHE Department was instructed to maintain adequate drinking water supply and keep contingency measures in place to address shortages.

The Assistant Director, FCS&CA was asked to ensure adequate availability of essential commodities and LPG and to intensify market inspections to curb hoarding and overpricing. Food Safety authorities were directed to conduct regular checks of eateries and vendors to ensure hygiene and quality standards.

Municipal bodies were instructed to undertake special sanitation drives, ensure cleanliness around mosques and markets, maintain street lighting and ensure timely garbage disposal. Police and Traffic authorities were directed to maintain law and order and regulate traffic near major congregation points.

The Health Department was asked to ensure availability of medical staff, essential medicines and emergency services, besides keeping ambulances on standby to handle any exigency.

Similar instructions were issued to the ADCs and SDMs to ensure close supervision and effective implementation of all arrangements at the sub-divisional level.

Emphasizing public convenience and safety, the DC directed all departments to maintain close coordination, activate grievance redressal mechanisms and ensure round-the-clock monitoring throughout the holy month.
ADC Vishavjeet Singh, CPO Ranjeet Thakur, Dy SP HQ were also present in the meeting.
