Detailed discussions were held regarding security, transportation, sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply, availability of essential commodities, healthcare services, traffic regulation and other arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festival.

Beside government functionaries, the meeting was attended by members of Majlis-e-Shoura Committee, who projected a wide range of demands and requirements. The Deputy Commissioner patiently listened to their demands and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments. He assured every possible support from the district administration Kishtwar.

The Deputy Commissioner constituted a team comprising Tehsildar, DySP Headquarters, CEO Municipal Council, Designated Food Safety Officer and AC Legal Metrology to intensify market inspections to keep a check on black marketing, overcharging and the quality of mutton, vegetables, bakery items, sweets, fruits and other essential commodities.

The TSO was directed to ensure that mutton and chicken are sold strictly at government-approved rates of mutton (Saafi) at Rs 550 per kilogram and dressed chicken at Rs 200 per kilogram.

To maintain cleanliness and avoid traffic congestion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the CEO Municipal Council and Tehsildar to ensure that sacrificial animals are not sold near the Main Jamia Masjid.

Further, all district and sectoral officers were directed to nominate nodal officers in their respective departments for regular monitoring and coordination during the festive period.

The CEO Municipal Council was directed to undertake extensive sanitation drives, including lime lining and cleaning of lanes, drains, areas around mosques and the Chowgan Ground (Eidgah).

The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department was directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of chlorinated drinking water to the town and adjoining areas, particularly at mosques and Chowgan Ground (Eidgah).

Directions were also issued for the deployment of water tankers at Chowgan Ground, ITI and other required locations.

The Executive Engineer, JPDCL was directed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during the auspicious days of Eid-ul-Azha.

The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to keep ambulances, medical teams and paramedical staff available at Chowgan Ground (Eidgah) and other major congregation points. The CMO was further directed to ensure that all PHCs, CHCs and Sub-Centres across the district remain functional round the clock during the festival.

Senior Superintendent of Police Naresh Singh, while outlining the responsibilities of the police administration, urged the Majlis-e-Shoura Committee to extend their support and coordination in maintaining brotherhood and ensuring the peaceful celebration of the auspicious Eid-ul-Azha festival across the district.
