KISHTWAR, MAY 29: In a significant outreach initiative, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, accompanied by a team from the District Administration, on Wednesday visited the remote village of Nagbhatna in the Kuntwara area of Drabshalla block.

The entourage included District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Parvez Qazi, CEO RK Vashishta, EE PDD, EE PMGSY and other concerned .

Demonstrating a commitment to governance and accessibility, the Deputy Commissioner and his team trekked 10 kilometers to engage directly with the residents, listen to their grievances and assess the effectiveness of the government’s functioning in this far-flung region.

During the visit, Dr. Devansh Yadav actively listened to the concerns of the locals, assuring them of prompt redressal. He directed the concerned district and sectoral officers to address these issues in consultation with the community and to submit an action taken report to his office. Several immediate concerns were resolved on the spot.

A notable issue identified was the absence of veterinary staff, prompting the Deputy Commissioner to assure strict disciplinary action for dereliction of duties. Additionally, locals raised demands for the expediting of PMGSY road work, the establishment of an extension counter for ration depots, and the provision of a bank branch or KHIDMAT center to improve access to essential services.

Besides, responding to the community’s demand for the upgradation of HS Nagbhatna to Higher Secondary Level, Dr. Yadav assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities for swift action.
The visit was marked by a warm reception from the locals, who played drums and musical instruments to welcome the district administration team. The residents praised the efforts of the young and dynamic Deputy Commissioner, noting that this was the first time an administration team had visited this remote area in Drabshalla block.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar termed this visit as the administration’s dedication and Commitment to inclusive governance and responsiveness to the needs of all residents, regardless of their geographical location viz a Viz at their doorstep.
