DC Kulgam reviews implementation of PM Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yojana

KULGAM, MARCH 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.

The scheme aims to increase the share of solar roof top capacity and empower residential households to generate their own electricity and reduce the monthly billing with significant financial contribution from the government.

S E , KPDCL (O&M) Circle Bijbehara gave a powerpoint presentation on the subject and apprised the chair that around 1057 applications have been received for registration till date in the district, with fifteen (15) solar plants already commissioned and ten (10) are at inspection stage under the said scheme.

The DC took a comprehensive review of the progress made in installing rooftop solar systems across all electrical sub divisions in the district.

He underlined the numerous benefits of the initiative and urged KPDCL officials to intensify their efforts in raising awareness among the public about the advantages of installing rooftop solar plants besides meeting the targets well in time.

He emphasized the need for launching a mass outreach campaign to sensitize the public about the scheme and its financial and environmental benefits.

ADDC Altaf Khan, ADC Viqar Giri, ACD, ACR, ACP, Ex. Engineers of KPDCL, PWD, Jal Shakti and Irrigation besides CEO, CMO, CAO, DSHO, CAHO, JKEDA, Tehsildars/ BDO’s/BMO’s/ZEO’s and other District Officers and DDO’s participated in the meeting.
