KULGAM, SEPTEMBER 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today reviewed the functioning of the Online Grievance Redressal System and JK Samadhan in respect of all departments of the District.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kulgam Altaf Ahmad Khan, ADC Kulgam Viqar Ahmad Giri, ACR Kulgam Reyaz Ahmad Shah, ACD Kulgam Billal Ahmad Kamgar, CPO Kulgam Malik Suheel, besides senior officers and district heads of all concerned departments.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner undertook a detailed review of the status of grievances received through the online grievance redressal mechanism, with particular focus on the pendency, timely disposal and quality of responses furnished to the public.
The DC made it categorically clear that no public grievance shall be allowed to remain unattended or unresolved without valid and recorded reasons. He directed all concerned officers to accord top priority to grievance redressal and ensure that every grievance is examined promptly and disposed of within the prescribed timelines.
Emphasising that grievance redressal is a direct interface between the administration and the public, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to ensure that grievances are not merely closed on the portal but are properly examined and resolved on the ground wherever required. The officers were further directed to personally monitor pending grievances pertaining to their respective departments and ensure timely action.
The DC warned that any laxity, negligence or failure on the part of officers to attend and redress public grievances will be viewed seriously and may invite strict administrative action. He directed all departments to maintain close monitoring of the grievance portals and ensure that no grievance remains pending due to avoidable administrative delay.
He further stressed that the administration is committed to providing a responsive, accountable and citizen-centric governance system, and that effective grievance redressal must remain a priority for every department.
All district officers were directed to ensure strict compliance with the directions and personally monitor the status of grievances under their respective jurisdictions.
