DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for conduct of festival at Kupwara

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements for conduct of Festival at Kupwara under “Implementation of Scheme for Promotion of Traditional and Cultural Festivals of J&K”
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the Festival.
The meeting decided that the Festival shall be held at the Auditorium of Government Degree College for Boys Kupwara and shall last for three days.
The meeting was informed that the Government has approved 12 major festivals which shall be observed/ celebrated during the first three months (Jan-March) 2022 in the Kashmir division. Out of these festivals, one Composite Cultural Festival has got approved in respect of district Kupwara which is scheduled to be celebrated from 07-09 February 2022 at the venue Boys Degree College Kupwara.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure a comprehensive and holistic action plan shall be chalked out for the smooth conduct of this festival in the district.
A festival of this scale is proposed to revive/rejuvenate the cultural ethos of the area.
JD Planning, Abdul Majeed; AC Panchayats, DIO and other concerned Officers attended the meeting.
