DC Kupwara visits Villagam, reviews Developmental Works

KUPWARA, APRIL 01: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse today visited Villagam area to review developmental works and assess the functioning of various departments.

During the visit, the DC inspected the Block Development Office (BDO) Villagam, where he was received by Tehsildar Villagam, Tehsildar Tarathpora, Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Block Development Officer Villagam, besides senior citizens and members of civil society.

During the programme organized under the banner of Future Seed Foundation (Trust), the DC felicitated meritorious students for their outstanding academic achievements and also honoured individuals actively working against drug abuse in the area. Highlighting the significance of the Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan, he stressed the need for collective efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs and build a healthy society.

Later, the DC visited Tehsil Office Villagam, where he reviewed the functioning of the revenue administration. He inspected the progress of Digital Crop Survey, digitization of records, and disposal of backlog mutation cases, and directed the concerned officers to expedite these processes to ensure efficient and timely public service delivery.

During the interaction, several issues including the absence of a dedicated Tehsil Office building, non-availability of Jan-Sugam portal for online certificates, and shortage of funds were brought to his notice.
The DC assured that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the appropriate authorities.
