DC Poonch reviews progress of NABARD-RIDF projects

POONCH, MARCH 18: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, today chaired a meeting to assess the progress of projects initiated under the NABARD Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) in the district.

The meeting saw participation from key officials, including SDM Mendhar, SDM Surankote, Tehsildar Balakote, Tehsildar Mendhar, Executive Engineer PWD Surankote and Executive Engineer PWD Mendhar, who joined virtually to provide updates on their respective areas.

During the discussions, the Deputy Commissioner inquired about the scheme-wise progress of ongoing road projects across all three subdivisions of Poonch District.

The Executive Engineer presented a detailed update on the construction status and highlighted various challenges affecting developmental works.

The DC emphasized the importance of addressing these issues promptly, urging concerned officials, including executive engineers and SDMs, to take immediate action. He also stressed the need for expedited forest and revenue clearance processes to streamline development efforts.

The DC directed executing agencies to enhance inter-departmental coordination to eliminate developmental bottlenecks and conducted a comprehensive review of road projects across the district’s subdivisions.

To facilitate timely infrastructure development for the community, the DC asked the executing agencies to complete the targeted work for this financial year by the end of March.

The meeting was attended by SE PWD (R&B), CPO Poonch, Tehsildar Haveli, Executive Jal Shakti Division Poonch along with other key officials.
