Public raises demands related to education, drinking water, sports, connectivity and infrastructure

DC presides over weekly Block Diwas at Kud- Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 16: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa today presided over the weekly Block Diwas programme at Kud, providing a platform to the people of adjoining panchayats to project their concerns and demands before the district administration.

The public outreach programme was attended by PO Poshan Subash Dogra, Assistant Commissioner Development Om Parkash, SDM Chenani Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, CEO PDA and other senior officers. Former PRI members and a large number of people from adjoining panchayats also participated.

The former PRI members and the general public projected several demands, seeking adequate of teaching staff at GHSS Kud and other educational institutions, augmentation of drinking water supply, establishment of a mini stadium to promote sports in the area, development of an eco-friendly garden, early completion of pending JJM works, improvement of mobile network connectivity, establishment of a Health Centre at Bupp, release of land compensation, construction of a footbridge and construction of a shed and boundary wall at GHSS Kud etc.
Responding to the issues and demands raised by the public, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that their genuine grievances would be addressed in a time-bound manner.

The DC emphasized the importance of working with dedication and commitment to ensure that the people of the area are not deprived of their legitimate demands. He urged the officers to create awareness among the public about the income-generating and beneficiary-oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and the UT Government.

The DC emphasized that the primary objective of such public outreach programmes is to address the day-to-day grievances faced by people on the ground and ensure effective delivery of public services.

During the Block Diwas programme, students of GHSS Kud presented a cultural programme, which was highly appreciated by everyone.

En route to Kud, the Deputy Commissioner visited Anganwadi Centre, Degolt-Ist, Project Chenani, to take stock of various activities being undertaken under the Poshan Maah campaign and review the functioning of the centre.

The DC interacted with the children, beneficiaries and Anganwadi staff and reviewed the activities being conducted to promote nutrition, early childhood care and education, health and the overall development of children.
