PULWAMA, JUNE 20: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of all designated examination centres across the district to review preparedness for the forthcoming NEET-UG 2026 examination scheduled to be held on June 21.
During the visit, the DC took a detailed review of the arrangements put in place at the examination centres and assessed the overall readiness for the smooth and fair conduct of the examination. He inspected CCTV installations, biometric facilities, frisking arrangements, and other security, surveillance and logistical measures put in place for the smooth and secure conduct of the examination.
The DC also inspected the centre infrastructure and reviewed seating arrangements, availability of drinking water, sanitation facilities, power backup, and other essential amenities to ensure a hassle-free experience for the candidates.
Interacting with Centre Superintendents and other officials, Dr. Qayoom sought detailed feedback regarding the preparedness of the centres and directed them to ensure strict compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The DC further stressed the significance of maintaining the sanctity of the examination process, directing that all pre-examination, examination and post-examination procedures be implemented meticulously as per the NTA guidelines. He enjoined upon the Centre Superintendents, district officers and NTA representatives to work in close synergy to facilitate a smooth and safe environment for all candidates appearing in the examination.
The DC was accompanied by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama, Tanushree; SSP Awantipora, Sajad Ahmad Shah; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama; Additional Deputy Commissioner Awantipora; Chief Education Officer (CEO) Pulwama; NTA City Coordinator; Centre Superintendents; and other concerned officers.
