RAJOURI, MAY 05: In a significant step towards strengthening banking infrastructure and enhancing public convenience, a Cash Recycler Machine (CRM) has been made operational here at Gujjar Mandi by Jammu & Kashmir Bank.
The CRM, which facilitates both cash deposit and withdrawal, was inaugurated today by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma in the presence of ADDC Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq; ADC Ravi Kumar Sihag; ADC Nowshera Pritam Lal Thapa; DGM J&K Bank, Lead District Manager and other senior bank officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the proactive role of the banking sector in expanding modern and accessible financial services in the district. He emphasized that such facilities are instrumental in ensuring seamless banking access, especially for people residing in far-flung and underserved areas.
Highlighting the utility of the CRM, the DC stated that it will enable customers to carry out cash transactions beyond regular banking hours, including on holidays, thereby providing enhanced flexibility and convenience.
Encouraging the public to make optimum use of the facility, he observed that despite the challenges associated with Rajouri being a border district, the administration is making sustained efforts to improve financial inclusion and banking accessibility.
The Deputy Commissioner further informed that an ATM facility was recently set up at Block Khawas—marking the first such service in the area since independence—reflecting the administration’s commitment towards inclusive and equitable development.
The initiative has been widely appreciated by the local residents, who are expected to benefit significantly from the improved banking services in the area.
