RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 21: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today kick started the Telemedicine Facility at Government Medical College Rajouri to enhance access to specialized healthcare services for the people of the district.

After formally starting the facility, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements put in place for smooth functioning of telemedicine services. He inspected the infrastructure, connectivity setup, consultation rooms and coordination mechanisms established for facilitating online consultations with specialists.

Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital administration to publish a proper schedule of doctors available for consultation through the telemedicine facility so that patients can avail the services in a systematic and convenient manner. He emphasized that wide publicity should be given to the schedule to ensure maximum public awareness and utilization of the service.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Telemedicine Facility will bridge the gap between patients and specialist doctors, particularly benefiting those who face difficulties in traveling outside the district for expert medical advice.

During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Dialysis Unit of the Medical College. He reviewed the functioning of the unit, availability of equipment, patient load and other facilities being provided to the beneficiaries. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted dialysis services and proper maintenance of equipment for the convenience of patients.

CPO Rajouri Maqsood Ahmed, Medical Superintendent Shamim Ahmed, Dr. Jameel Ahmed and other doctors accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visit.
