‎‎‎‎RAJOURI, MAY 22: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the Eid-ul-Azha festival in the district. The meeting was attended by district and sectoral officers, besides prominent members of civil society.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for effective traffic management during the festival to avoid congestion, particularly around mosques, Eidgahs and marketplaces. He directed the concerned enforcement departments to conduct regular market checking drives to curb overpricing and ensure availability of quality edible items.

‎‎The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned departments to maintain adequate stock of essential commodities and ensure the availability of ambulances and emergency medical care facilities during the festive days.

Stressing the importance of public hygiene and sanitation, he instructed the Municipal Committee to make proper arrangements for prompt disposal of waste and maintain cleanliness around mosques, Eidgahs and other congregational places.

‎‎Similarly, the Executive Engineers of PDD and Jal Shakti departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during Eid-ul-Azha. The District Sheep Husbandry Department was also instructed to organise pashu melas at different locations across the district to facilitate availability of sacrificial animals.

‎‎The DC called upon all departments to work in close coordination to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations of Eid-ul-Azha across the district.
