RAJOURI, FEBRUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma chaired a meeting today to finalise arrangements for the observance of the holy month of Ramadan in the district.
The DC directed concerned departments to ensure sufficient and uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity. He emphasised the need for maintaining high standards of sanitation, especially in areas with heavy public movement.
To ensure the availability of quality essentials at fair prices, the DC directed Legal Metrology and market checking teams to carry out regular inspections to prevent overcharging and hoarding. He instructed officials to ensure installation and repair of street lights in market areas and around mosques.
The DC further stressed the importance of effective traffic and parking management to avoid congestion during peak hours, particularly during Iftar and late-night prayers.
SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar assured full support from the police department to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rajouri Chander Prakash, ACR Rajouri Mohd Jahangir Khan, Executive Engineer PHE Sudesh Kumar, Executive Engineer PDD Muneer Ahmed, Administrator Auqaf Abdul Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Rajouri Varinder Gupta and other district officers.
