RAJOURI, MAY 16: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma today visited shelling affected areas and later chaired a crucial meeting to review the progress of the ongoing assessment of damages caused to residential houses.

To ensure comprehensive coverage, the Deputy Commissioner directed the involvement of officials from multiple departments, including the Revenue Department and the Rural Development Department (RDD), for effective identification and reporting of damage cases from every nook and corner of the district.

Emphasizing a people-centric approach, the Deputy Commissioner said that no genuine case should be left out and directed the deputed teams to carry out the assessment as per laid down norms in a time-bound manner. He further stated that field teams shall visit the doorsteps of affected households to assess the extent of damage and ensure timely relief.

“The aim is to ensure that all affected families receive due support without any delays. Officials must act with sincerity, empathy, and urgency,” the Deputy Commissioner added.

Earlier in the day, the Deputy Commissioner visited Panjgrain and other affected areas to take firsthand stock of the situation. He interacted with the local population, listened to their grievances, and assured them that timely relief would be provided to all eligible victims.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Chander Prakash; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Mohammad Jahangir Khan, and other concerned district and sectoral officers.
