RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 12: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to review the progress of registrations under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PMSYM) scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Chief Education Officer Ramban Mohd Sultan, Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban Amit Kumar, CEO Municipal Council Ramban Sudarshan Singh, District Programme Manager JKRLM Mohd Yousuf, District Manager CSC Nawaz Ahmad, Block Development Officers, CDPOs and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for coordinated efforts among departments to achieve the registration targets within a week. He directed the CEO Municipal Council Ramban to ensure enrolment of all eligible Mid-Day Meal workers, helpers and cooks under the scheme. The CDPOs were instructed to cover all eligible Anganwadi workers, while the District Programme Manager JKRLM was directed to mobilise and register eligible Self-Help Group (SHG) women under PMSYM.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner briefed the Chair about the targets set for the district and the progress achieved so far. He also explained the registration process and highlighted the benefits of the scheme.
The Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan scheme provides a minimum assured pension of ₹3,000 per month after attaining the age of 60 years to unorganised workers aged between 18 and 40 years with a monthly income below ₹15,000, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of maximising coverage under the scheme to ensure social security benefits for eligible workers across the district.
