RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 21: Principal Census Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today reviewed the progress of Phase-II Population Enumeration of Census-2027 in the snow-bound areas of the district, here at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Census Officer (District Statistics and Evaluation Officer) Ashfaq Ur Rehman and District Coordinator Anish Sharma, while Sub-Divisional Census Officers (SDCOs), Charge Officers (Tehsildars) and other concerned officers participated in the meeting virtually.
The District Statistics and Evaluation Officer briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the overall progress of Phase-II Population Enumeration, including charge-wise achievements and the status of the remaining work.
Reviewing the progress in Banihal, Khari, Pogal-Paristan, Ramsoo, Ramban, Batote, Rajgarh and Gool, the Deputy Commissioner directed the respective Charge Officers to maintain close field-level supervision and ensure completion of the assigned work within the prescribed timelines.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the preparations for collection of data for the District Census Handbook (DCHB). He directed the officers to complete all preparatory activities for collection of DCHB data starting from Oct 1, 2026, which continue till Oct 31, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised effective field-level coordination, continuous monitoring and timely removal of bottlenecks for the smooth and successful completion of Census-2027 in the district.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officers to ensure timely completion of the Digital Crop Survey (DCS), with regular monitoring and follow-up at the field level.
